Garageland Podcast

Garageland – Ruby Soho

Garageland is my rock ’n’ roll sanctuary on community radio, now a podcast. Every week I spin records that celebrate the spirit of the garage — the place where so many of us first discovered music, started bands, threw parties, fell in love, and figured out who we were going to be.

The show explores the stories and sounds of rock ’n’ roll across generations and genres — from punk and garage to country, soul and the underground bands still grinding it out today. It’s about the dreamers, the outsiders, the music makers and the characters who create the soundtrack to our lives.

Garageland was inspired by the punk rock ethos and the philosophy of artists like Joe Strummer — questioning authority, chasing freedom, and believing that music should come from passion rather than profit. The show lives by two simple ideas: “take down the man” and “love is religion.”

Melbourne’s music community is at the heart of the program. I love championing local bands, sharing stories from the scene, and celebrating the raw energy that keeps rock ’n’ roll alive.

Garageland is basically me hanging out in the garage with my mates, spinning records, telling stories and keeping the rock ’n’ roll revolution going. Now happening in Coffs Harbour- Ruby’s new residence.
